Small Bedroom Side Tables

With the conversion of a box room to sleeping accommodation for guests, I knew that I would have to find some small bedroom side tables. There was limited space alongside the bed and I knew I would have to choose carefully.

I was really surprised at the variety available. The first decision was whether to go for a natural wood bedside table or a black or white one. That was the easy bit; next task was to choose a style.

At the most basic, a nightstand must provide a convenient surface next to the bed, for overnight placing of books and magazines, spectacles, jewelry and other personal objects. There should also be enough space for a bedside clock and a reading lamp. The simpler models have a bare top shelf, sometimes with a second one lower down for additional tidying away or a display area.

The more sophisticated bedside cabinets incorporate a variety of storage options. There is usually at least one drawer. Beyond that, there is a choice of more drawers, an open space, or a cupboard with a door. All of these are useful for longer term stowing of small items. I also noticed that some night tables incorporate wicker baskets to store things. That’s a novel alternative.

There is an amazing amount of choice when it comes to deciding on the right tables for the bedside. I hope that the sample of items I have chosen below provide some inspiration. Why not click on the links to find out more information?
