Small Metal Watering Can
My wife is keen on plant arrangements in pots and planters, throughout the house, in the conservatory and on the patio. To keep them fresh and healthy, she needed a small metal watering can.
The larger models are bulky, heavy to carry when full and are not very efficient in delivery of water over a limited area.
Size is important; it had to be petite but not to the point of being miniscule. Too tiny, and it would not be functional and end up as a decoration or clutter. It needed to have a reasonable capacity of up to a quart and be relatively light when filled.
Durability is important, so that it would continue to give good service for a long time. This really eliminated the plastic models and my attention fell on a stainless steel construction, which would resist scratches and not tarnish. An alternative is steel with a painted coating.
It should also be an attractive and functional design that incorporated a sturdy handle and allowed easy filling and sprinkling of water or plant feed.
I have chosen the following as a representative sample of what is available to suit these requirements. The choices are largely stainless steel but I have included painted ones, including a novelty option.
